About Saint and Sofia.

About Saint and Sofia.

Saint and Sofia is based in London, England creating modern luxury fashion and accessories, with a twist.

We believe in challenging the status quo, thinking differently and fusing art and science. We design all of our collections in our studios on the Southbank in London, inspired by modern culture, art and music (the art). We've spent years building a smart supply chain using data science, machine learning and lean manufacturing principles (the science). This way, we're able to offer exceptional value to our customers because our costs are lower. We strive for efficiency to be sustainable, reduce costs and minimising our impact on the environment.

We work with family owned fabric mills and leather tanneries in Italy, Portugal and Turkey. We have dedicated sampling studios and production facilities in Italy and Bulgaria. Our tailors and seamstresses use modern technology or work by hand to finish every style with care. We have a dedicated production team who oversee the production of every style and visit our production facilities on a weekly basis.

Saint and Sofia is the new brand from the Award Winning founders that created Zaggora in 2011, the activewear brand with 1.5 million customers in 143 countries. The Saint and Sofia team are a group of highly talented individuals with prior experience at leading brands including Louis Vuitton, Matches Fashion, Reiss, Miss Selfridge, Ted Baker, Roland Mouret and Evisu. Whilst Saint and Sofia is based in London, we have operations in the UK, Europe and USA, already serving over 250,000 customers in 54 countries around the world.

THE ART OF DESIGN.

THE ART OF DESIGN.

Our in-house design team in London take inspiration from the arts, music and popular culture to create current, versatile styles with a twist. The design team visit art galleries, work with artists and draw inspiration from the creative arts when designing styles in seasonal collections. Every year we produce Collections for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. In between, we work with artists and master craft makers to create special collections.

We work collaboratively with customers to engineer optimal fit and feel using the finest fabrics. Since 2011, we’ve worked with the best crafts people around the world to source and construct technical pieces. Every style is optimised using feedback from customers through fittings.

Every product starts with an idea based on customer feedback. Ideas are drawn and sketched by hand and brought to life in house by cutting and fitting each piece. We test wearability and fit extensively with multiple testers to ensure our products work on all body types, big and small.

We believe in being inclusive. We're one of a handful of brands to offer a broad size range of 9 sizes - from UK 6 (US 2) to UK 22 (US 18) with Petite, Regular and Tall inseam options.

THE SCIENCE OF PRODUCTION.

THE SCIENCE OF PRODUCTION.

We've built a smart supply chain using data science, lean manufacturing principles and just in time production. The goal was to produce efficiently, in a sustainable way to minimise cost and the impact on the environment. This way, we're able to offer exceptional quality and value to customers. We've optimised our logistics, transport and production to reduce transport distance and cost.

We created a dedicated production team in Europe who can sample and manufacture every style on a 'Just in time' basis. We re-stock styles on a weekly basis to our logistics facilities in the UK and USA. We manufacture all of our styles in-house with partners in Europe. We've hand picked manufacturing partners in Italy, Portugal, Turkey and Bulgaria who share our passion for production to create styles in an efficient, sustainable way. We directly source fabrics, details and trims in Europe from family owned suppliers.

Our production team in Europe visit our production facilities every week to coordinate production, quality test products and work collaboratively to ensure the finest fit and feel of every garment. We sample every product in multiple sizes before production to ensure the best possible fit and feel on every size.

We’re always trying to improve our designs and products with you in mind. We regularly test both fit and feel on multiple customers and testers with different sizes and shapes to ensure versatility.

Better fabrics for the planet.

Better fabrics for the planet.

Wherever possible, we use natural materials like Merino, Econyl and Organic or regenerated cotton, that are more sustainable.

For instance, non-organic cotton is one of the most treated crops on the planet. For 1 pound of raw cotton in the US, 1/3 pounds of synthetic fertilizers are used. 1 pound of raw cotton is roughly used to make a single t-shirt. In just one year in 2011, more than 2.03 billion pounds of synthetic fertilisers were used on cotton in the USA alone.

Conventional cotton also utilises between 3 and 5 times more energy to produce than organic cotton. Organic cotton is superior to conventional cotton in terms of increasing biodiversity, mitigating climate change by elimination of intensive fertilizers, reducing water contamination and consumption, preserving soil quality and reducing energy requirements. It’s also very soft on your skin making it good for you and good for nature.

Serious about sustainablity.

Serious about sustainablity.

We believe in our responsibility to each other and to the planet. We believe in making products that are good for you and minimise our impact. This means being conscious of the effect each part of our design and supply chain has on us, others and the planet.

Here’s just a few of the steps we’re taking manufacture as sustainably as possible:

  • - Bio degradable packaging
  • - Using natural or regenerated materials
  • - Sourcing raw materials close to production
  • - Collaborating with World Wild Fund For Nature
  • - Planting trees with Trees for Cities
  • - Using GOTS Certified Organic Cotton
